The Plot

The Legend of James Jack builds upon the 200-year-old oral tradition surrounding the drafting of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence and the legendary journey of local tavern owner James Jack. Whereas the original tradition states that James' 550 mile journey occured without much incident, my novel aims to tell what may have happened had Charlotte's greatest hero come face-to-face with rogue soldiers, loyalists, smugglers and highway thieves. 

Featuring a plethora of authentic North Carolina colonial history infused with a rich narrative fiction, The Legend of James Jack is an exciting journey into one of America's most unknown, but brilliant sagas in our struggle for early struggle for freedom.
