One of James' first stops along his journey, the town of Salisbury, North Carolina stood as one of the most influential in the colonial backcountry.
Bloomsbury, North Carolina
Before the city of Raleigh had been built, the town of Bloomsbury stood as the county seat in Wake County. This is one of several North Carolina locations highlighted during the novel.


Tryon Palace, New Bern, NC
Both before, during, and after the American Revolution, "Tryon Palace" stood as the home of the colonial, and then later, state governor. Tryon Palace was based out of New Bern - North Carolina's colonial, and first state capital.
Shenandoah Valley, Virginia
As vast and expansive today as it was back in the 1770s, the Shenandoah Valley is a part of the untamed wilderness waiting for our hero, James Jack.


Susquehanna River, Pennsylvania
Another natural barrier for James to overcome, the mighty Susquehanna River stands between him and his destination in Philadelphia.
